ALTERNATOR REMOVAL
The process for removing the alternator is a bit of a mission but able to be done. The following is how I removed the alternator.
1. Disconnect the battery in the left rear wheel well. The disconnection switch behind the seat will do as well but I like to be sure than sorry.
2. Remove the rear panel.
3. Remove the muffler cover/shroud/heat shield.
4. Remove air ducting to throttle body.
5. Clear anything else that may be in the way.
6. Undo alternator bolts (see Parts Manual page 16.03.00).
7. Remove the belt.
8. Remove the wires (remember which one goes where).
9. Wiggle out the alternator. Mine came out easy but have heard of other people struggling with the removal. You may have to remove other parts to make more room.
