CATALYTIC CONVERTER - LIGHT ON DASH - ALL CATS REMOVED

Problem - Catalytic converter lights (L or R or both) appears on dash and beeping sound when driving.

Possibility 1 - Owners have sourced the problem to be the thermocouple controller.  The thermocouples activate at approx. 1200-1300 degrees F to prevent cat meltdown and the very real fire hazard! It's not possible for the exhaust gas to reach 1200-1300 degrees F without cats. The controllers shut down "the offending banks" injectors (causing a power loss) in case raw fuel is flooding a cat which is a very bad thing!
Unplug the controller. Picture below has an arrow pointing to panel where the controller is positioned. The panel needs to be removed. The controller is about the size of a cigarette packet.

Possibility 2 - Some owners have said that their cars have never run so well after removing the cats and removing/unplugging the thermocouple controller.

Possibility 3 - This happened to me when I emptied my cats. I removed the thermocouple and the lights and beeping went away immediately.

(Do not unplug the controller if cats are still on car).

What Our Member's Are Saying

"I have spent hours looking for fixes for my Lambo and here it is in one website. Great value for money and very easy to use." Charles Wigins

"Fantastic concept and the information is very well set out. Every model for the one price is brilliant. I fixed my problem by searching another model." Tyler Mendo

"I have recently sold my Countach but I would like to give a big shout out to the one person who has been collating this information for many years and has made this website a winner. Jason is a handicapped man who is the driving force behind this website. I met Jason and his brother by accident at a car event in Australia. Even though he will never drive a car, he sure knows how to drive the internet. Well done Jason and keep up the good work." Mark W
