CLUTCH PEDAL - SOFT AND HARD
Problem - Driving along and applying clutch, feels slight weakness then put clutch in again and rock solid, no movement at all. Looking under the car there is a small amount of clutch fluid coming from the cylinder and the operating rod appears to be fully extended.
Possibility 1 - If this is the problem, it is a slave cylinder. They are easy to overhaul or they are available new at not a lot of money.
Possibility 2 - There is a hole in the bottom of the bell housing. When looking in this area you can see the clutch, pressure plate and the throw out bearing. Carefully look these components over. In my case you could see where the clutch fork pulled right through the throw out bearing housing. A hoist will be required to carry out this process.
