RANDOM CUT OUT WHILE DRIVING
Problem - I was driving home and while changing gears and into 5th gear then applying the gas, the car stalled. The RPM on the tacho did not change (still in gear) and the radio and dash stayed on as normal. What was missing was the horsepower. It felt as if it wasn't running. I press the accelerator but the car slowed down but then it kicked back in and I started driving again. Drove again in 5th gear for about 30 seconds and it all happened again. I got home without it happening again thankfully.
There is one thing that is odd... the speed odometer numbers jump around and it makes funny digital lines in the odometer miles (see photos). So that made me think it's a bad ground and I started by checking the battery. Both connections on the battery were finger tight and I was able to remove the positive and negative by hand. So I take the battery out, clean the posts (even though they look brand new and already clean) and then reattach them tightly.
Drove about 10 minutes to get to the freeway and no problems. Got on the freeway and everything seemed to be working fine so I drove at the normal freeway speed of 65 to 75 for about 20 minutes and no issues at all. Then again while in 5th gear I went to give it a slight bit of gas (doing about 72) and it completely cut out and stalls again. This time I'm looking at all the gauges and dash and everything has power and is looking normal. I put my foot down on the gas and nothing... no power and the engine RPM is only rolling at the wheel speed that we are coasting in gear (about 2,000 if I recall correctly). I start coasting to the shoulder and down shift to 4th to see if it will catch and start again. Nothing... so I down shift to 3rd and this time the engine power comes back on and takes off. I shift up to 4th and give it some gas and it cuts out and dies again. But this time it comes right back on. I take an exit and park the Diablo for about 5 minutes. Then I start it up and drive it home fine without any dying or cutting out at all on the 30 minute return drive.
I did the key "on" and "off" 3 times to make the check engine lights flash the simple codes and it comes back with 2 issues.
* 8 = Battery Voltage
* 23 = OBDII System Failure
When I hook up an OBDII to the car (under the steering wheel) I only get 1 code.
* P0309 = Misfire Cylinder 9
I'm having the car shipped to the Lamborghini specialists about 150 miles way. Any ideas what this might be wrong or what we should be looking for?

Possibility 1 - Normally complete cutting out would be timing sensor, SEN-8, but speedo and all that messing up could actually result "OBD system failure" ie. ECU fail, could be connection issue, but I am sure your mechanic will find issue and hopefully it will not be that bad.
Possibility 2 - The odometer issue is definitely a wiring problem.
Possibility 3 - Could be a grounding issue. Check all the grounds and make sure contact is clean.
Possibility 4 - Could be an electrical gremlin. Check all fuses and relays and replace any that look remotely old.
Possibility 5 - Check the fuel pumps and their grounds. No fuel pumps, no fuel.
