STARTER MOTOR - HEAT SOAK
Problem - I cannot start the car when hot. When it is cold, it starts first time.
Possibility 1 - The problem is called 'Heat soak or Heat soaking'. Below will explain and utilising a shield will help the problem.
If your starter motor easily cranks a cold engine, but “drags” or cranks very slowly or may not start at all when hot, there may be a “heat soak” problem. Heat soak can usually be solved by installing a heat shield on the starter; this will reflect the heat away from starter.
