HEAD TORQUE
Problem - What is the correct head torque setting and procedure for an 88 LM002 motor?
Possibility 1 - It's the same as on every QV engine 100Nm.
Torqueing the head is easy. This is the procedure.
1. Begin with the 2 screw/nuts in the middle, then the two left of the middle, then the 2 right, again left then right and once more then you're done. This means you go from the middle to the outers once left and then right always 2 together.
2. After setting the nuts, torque each at 20Nm. Then 15 Minutes later, torque to 40Nm. The 15 Minutes after that, retighten to 60Nm. Then 30 minutes later, tighten to 80 Nm. After 1 hour tighten to 100Nm.
After the final setting, wait for an entire day then retorque again with 100-110Nm
After having driven for 1000 miles retorque again.
