CLUTCH PRESSURE PLATE REMOVAL
Problem - How hard is it to replace the pressure plate?
Possibility 1 - If your local mechanic has experience with a classic Mini then it will not be a problem. The pressure plate fits on a tapered shaft and can take some pressure to remove. I used a custom made fixture that used a 12 ton bottle jack (I originally made this to remove a Mini flywheel). I also recommend making a custom 4 prong socket to remove the lock nuts on the end of crankshaft adapter. Note: do not use the tool dimensions listed in the workshop manual to make this tool as they are wrong. However it is not required as the previous owner of my car used a drift (I do not recommend this), which meant I had to do some filing to clean the nuts up before putting it back together.
Possibility 2 - The clutch removal and internals are very easy for a competent mechanic to fix and replace.
